Abhyanga (Self-Massage)

Author: Puja Patel, ALC

Abhyanga (Self-Massage)

During winter, vata levels increase, often causing dryness in the skin and hair. This imbalance can also lead to restlessness and a feeling of being “spaced out.” Practicing abhyanga (self-massage) and oiling the hair helps to nourish dry skin, calm the vata dosha, and improve circulation in both the mind and body. Warm sesame or almond oil is recommended during the colder months. Use as needed for optimal benefits.
